Understanding Unity of the Spirit

What does unity mean? And how do we keep it?

Ephesians 4:3 Complete Jewish Bible: and making every effort to preserve the unity the Spirit gives through the binding power of peace.

The root verb action of unity is to turn towards a person with interest or affection and has the idea of making an alliance. When we turn to someone, if they are a believer, there is an instant recognition that the other person has the same Christ in them! That stirs our interest to form a bond with them and to "put on love as the girdle of maturity."
